The Peak District has several bike hire centres to get you cycling the peaks and puddles of the hills, trails and dales, even if you don’t own a bike or you’re visiting from outside the area.
None of the links here are paid or represent an endorsement, it’s just a list of what’s available and where.
Peak District National Park Bike Hire Centres
Based at Parsley Hay, Derwent, Ashbourne and Manifold with a wide variety of cycles to hire. None of them, sadly, with particularly good public transport links, but plenty of (paid) car parking.
Bollington Wharf Bike Hire
Remarkably the only cycle hire base serving the Middlewood Way and Macclesfield Canal area, with vintage bikes and kids bikes available – or a narrowboat if you’re feeling more adventurous!
Blackwell Mill Cycle Hire
Serving the Monsal Trail from the very start of the route south of Buxton, this independent cycle hire base is also within a short walk from a bus stop on the main A6.
Hassop Station Cycle Hire
This busy cycle hire base just north of Bakewell on the Monsal Trail is best accessed by car, with a book shop and café to complete the day out.
The Bike Barn Ashbourne
Small independent cycle hire in the centre of Ashbourne, not far from the southern end of the Tissington Trail.
